Schönburger

White variety - Schönburger

  • General: The Schönburger variety was named after the town of the same name near Oberwesel on the Rhine. Only a small part of the vineyard area is in Germany. In England and the USA, the share is significantly higher.
  • Cluster: The grapes are medium to large and partly shouldered. The pink berries are tightly packed.
  • Wine: The wine can be described similarly to Gewürztraminer. It is rich in bouquet, fruity to spicy.
  • Cultivation: Schönburger should be planted in a wind-protected location and prefers deep, well-watered soils. The yield is in the medium range. The growth is upright.
