Grapevine Variety Days

Dear Winemakers and industry related colleagues,

Every year, and once again, comes around the Freytag Vine Nursery series of Open Days.
Even in these difficult times for our industry, we would like to cordially invite you to our popular Grape Variety Days.

The event will take place on the following days, each starting at 1:30 PM with a joint departure from our company headquarters:

During the field tour, our specialist staff will inform you about the latest innovations in PiWi vine breeding, the selection of rootstocks and the differences as shown in the canopy systems. In the case of traditional grape varieties, we will discuss the merits of differing clones that offer us options in times of climate change. Depending on the current situation in the vineyards, we reserve the right to make changes to the program items. If you have any specific requests or questions, please let us know when you register.


After the tour, you are offered the opportunity to taste a representative selection of PiWi wines in a relaxed atmosphere. Over a glass of wine, you will have the opportunity to talk ‘shop’ with our employees and other guests.

We are also pleased to write that the company Erbslöh and the ‘Zukunftsweine’ community will be represented again this year with their own stands. They will be available to answer your questions and provide information stemming from their own experience and research.
